Hello
Well BT have finally admitted FTTP is a non starter where we live so we are now looking at a 4G router based mobile signal system (giving us a minimum of a 3 x performance improvement on our FTTC system here). I cannot seem to find any information on how to use this system for VOIP apart from paying Skype or Zoom. Does anyone have any information or links I can follow to find anything? Thank you

@pldoghouse : You'll need to sign up with a VoIP provider like Sipgate. Skype & Zoom aren't exactly VoIP; more like calls over data.

If your talking about a 4/5G Sim Router with an available RJ11 Telephone Port fitted then its going to be touch and go to get it to work using the Sim for Voice Calls, in fact its probably best to say its going to be a Non Starter. The technology has moved on.
If you mean using VOIP access through the Mobile Routers Internet Access then this should be fine but as you say you will need 3rd Party Software Applications / Devices (note: there is no static or Fixed IP on Mobile Routers), also probably advisable to set the Routers APN Profile to ipv4 Only.

Thanks for these replies - helpful but also really surprising in my opinion - surely this is a fairly logical route for people to follow, especially as we approach the demise of the PSTN as we know it (though I note it's gone a quiet on change over dates). I thought it would be a 'subject' specifically covered on the EE pages.
