Unable to set up 4g Wifi Mini

Jo349

Afternoon,

I am having a nightmare getting my 4G Wifi Mini to work.

I purchased it in April and used while away for a week no problem.  I topped up the data once before I actually ran out without issue but then I did run out of data and it didn't matter what I did I could not get to the top up facility and went round and round in circles.

I need to use it again next week so figured I'd just buy a new sim with 100gb and set up as new.

I've reset the device and started the set up process as new, however it will not connect to the internet.

If I go to My EE it says I need to connect my device, which I am unable to do.  It also says I may need to activate my sim, which I also cannot do because my device won't connect!

Can anyone help?

Thank you!

I have the same issue, it con't go to the links you've posted as there is no data and I get an unable to connect error message.

If I use other data I get an EE help page saying it can't complete as I need to turn off wifi....

Help?

MyEE doesn't work for registering PAYG MBB devices or at least those with data SIMs. It stops at telling you to connect your device & login to it, but when you've done as instructed it doesn't have anywhere for you to say you've done it.

You may continue using your device but you just can't register it to MyEE.

  1. Use Fast Top Up online with a UK bank card. You don't need to login or register anything. All you need is your mobile no.
  2. Go to http://add-on.ee.co.uk/status from the device will tell you your usage & credit.
  3. Go to http://add-on.ee.co.uk/purchase from the device to buy add-ons.

When I select the option to tell me how much data I have it thinks about it then refreshes the front page that I started from.

None of the links you have provided work.  If I select when connected to the wifi mini I'm met with no network.  If I connect using another wifi I receive the help page saying I must turn off my wifi.

@Jo349 : You don't need data to access the EE add-on links. They are entirely within the EE network.

Hi,  I'm not sure if I'm missing the point here but I cannot access anything within those links as stated through connecting only via my wifi mini.

I have no network, my sim cannot be activated because I need to do this apparently within the wifi mini settings and this is saying there is no connectivity.

Hi @Jo349

The add-on status page that I linked to is zero rated, so it will let you connect if you have a data signal, even if you have no allowance remaining. You need to do it on the mobile network when disconnected from WiFi.

To be clear, the router itself won't be connected to WiFi but the device accessing it will either be connected to WiFi or by cable to the router & definitely disconnected from the mobile network.

It doesn’t work as stated. I am told I have no connection.
