TP Link MR6400 router used to work for years until today - any ideas?

So, have had a TP Link MR6400 with an EE sim card for a few years and all was working fine until today.

Now, it fails to connect to the internet.

I gather that EE were doing some work in the local area very recently, possibly today but it is hard to find out.

I have two different EE sims, neither allow the router to connect. Both work in normal phones. Putting a Smarty sim in the router works fine, so it seems to be some sort of configuration connecting the router to the network.

Any ideas very welcome.

We don't want you to have any trouble using your SIM in any devices. Have you checked for any service outages?

Hi, thanks for the reply - after a couple of hours getting nowhere, I thought I would wait overnight and see. This morning, still no connection but after rebooting yet again, it has been fine.

I wonder if whatever work had happened hadn't been fully finished so devices other than phones couldn't connet?
