A friend has just received this router and added an ATA for VOIP telephony. From what he tells me it is correctly setup for connection to the SIP server. However, calls cannot be made nor received.
Before I go further in trying to help him I'd like confirmation that EE do nothing to prevent VOIP telephony on this broadband service. For example, Three only allow data traffic and specifically block telephony. I hope EE don't do anything like this.

Hi @Loades,
Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂
I'm not aware of anything that would prevent the use of VoIP services on our Smart 5G Hub but I'll check in with our device specialists and report back if they have any further information.

Hi @Loades,
Our device specialists have confirmed that we have customers who are successfully using VoIP services over our mobile network.
They'd recommend contacting the VoIP software provider for confirmation of compatibility of their service with mobile broadband routers.
Hope this helps.

Thank you, James. Now I know that I'll make a visit to my friend in the knowledge that I should be able to make it work.

Hi, sorry to dig up this old thread but we are aboutto try getting an EE 5G router etc installed at our office, with an antenna. We are finding it very difficult to find a router that has 4 antenna ports that are required and also be compatible with VOIP by having static IP address.
A lot of people seem to be having trouble with VOIP because they are using routers that do not allow static IP.
Can anyone suggest a router they have used with 4 antenna ports and static IP??
Thanks

Hi @AlliedEngineers,
Sorry, we don't offer static IP addresses on our mobile broadband service.

Hi James,
Just to clarify if I get a router and EE 5G sim, it will never work with a VOIP system (which requires static IP) ?
Thanks

Hi @AlliedEngineers,
Yes, if your VoIP service requires a static IP (many don't), it wouldn't work with an EE mobile data connection.
