Re: Not receiving Texts on 4GEE WiFi Mini

Hi, does anybody know how to solve this without putting the sim into a phone?

Long story short, I'm abroad and before leaving home i put my sim into a router, connected to a PC which i can log into to read my texts...

Although clunky, it's been working fine for months and has now suddenly stopped receiving messages.

I'm able to access the router and change any settings required, but I can not physically access the sim card.

It's essential that I'm able to see the SMS messages sent to me whilst I'm away!

Thanks in advance...

Hi @luk3jay

Thanks for coming to the community.

Do you have a pay as you go or pay monthly SIM in the router?

Is the router showing signal and connecting to data?

Leanne.

Hi, it's a pay monthly sim with plenty of data, calls and texts.

The router has signal and an internet connection via the EE sim.

Thank you.

Morning @luk3jay

Can you go to the Connection Manager or type 192.168.1.1 into your browser on a device connected to the router.

Enter the default username and password unless you have changed this, username: admin and the password: admin

You should then have access to the text messages sent to the device.

Leanne.

Hi,

I have no problem connecting to the device and finding the sms menu...

My issue is that SMS messages are not being delivered to the sim card by EE.

It's as if the sim has become data only without any ability to call/text.

Thanks, I see what you mean @luk3jay

Have you sent a text to the number to see if this was received and showing?

Leanne.

Yes I have and it isn't received, hence my knowledge that I'm not able to
receive sms messages...

Thanks for confirming @luk3jay

Could you try removing and reinserting the SIM card and restart the router, does this help?

If not, this would need to be looked into for you by our tech guides. Please call from any phone on +44 (0)7953 966 150.

Leanne.

This still isn't working.

Is there a way I can contact the tech team via email or other text based
communication?

Hi @luk3jay

I am sorry this is not an option for technical support you would need to give us a call to get this fully investigated.
