Mobile broadband WiFi help

I have mobile broadband from a Smart 4G Hub 2 in the house I’ve just moved into. However, the WiFi signal is too weak for the thick walls and the end of the house it has to sit to get good signal. The signal on the good end is 50 Mbps so phone support suggested an external antenna is not necessarily the way to go.

I previously had home broadband with a UniFi network system anchored by a UniFi Dream Machine (the older one that looks like the current Dream Router) as the main router and various access points connected to it. However, when I tried to connect it up to the 4G hub, it fails to connect to the internet at all.

I have two questions.

1) Does anyone have experience getting the UniFi router to work with the 4G hub? If so, can you share how you managed it?

2) Does anyone currently successfully use any other WiFi extenders with their 4G hub?

Cheers
