Mini WiFi hub

I purchased a mini hub from Argos last year for holiday and I haven’t touched it since we got back pretty much 1 year ago. I am trying to set it up and I’m seeing it’s disconnected which I’m guessing is where I haven’t used it the sim has been shut down.

can I just buy any pay as you go sim and get going with it like before using the same WiFi network name and password or do I have to get one for the hub?

Chances are it has a PAYG SIM. When not used they go into hibernation after 6 months & are completely deactivated after 9.

You can buy any PAYG SIM for it . A normal phone SIM will probably be cheaper & usually have more data than a data SIM but will need topping-up & buying a plan every 30 days. However on Amazon & such like you can get EE Connected Data SIMs with pre-loaded data lasting 3, 6 or 12 months.
