I live in a rural location with no home broadband to the premises, so I rely on my 4GEE unit.
A few years ago, I bought an outside antenna to improve the signal we received and the speeds went from around 8mbps to around 50-60mbps.
The EE installer said at the time he didn't think we should pay for the installation as they were hoping for better speeds, but we went ahead anyway as anything was better than the 8mbps.
Things seemed ok for a while but lately we're back to 8mbps.
I read that the 5G rollout was slowed down due to the Huawei situation but I didn't think that's affect the 4GEE signal -was I wrong here?
Also, I've read that EE no longer offer antennas for 4GEE - but should existing ones still work?
There's no 5G either in my location and with two people WFH full time we're struggling with 8mbps again.
Any tips or advice would be appreciated!

EE tend to install 5G equipment alongside 4G swapouts and/or capacity-adds.
Equally, without knowing the specifics of your area, the solution to poor data speeds could well be additional capacity being added to the 4G network, as much as that capacity being a 5G-add.

Hey there @KnewBee, as far as I'm aware existing antennas should still work.
Have you had a chance to look at our network status checker to see if there are any outages reported in the area?

Yes, the site says coverage is great indoors and out, and there's no known network issues.
I've tried restarting the unit, disconnecting and reconnecting the antenna wires etc. but the speed remains constant at around ,8-10mbps

Thanks for giving that a check for me, @KnewBee.
There's still a chance that there's issues somewhere nearby, which can cause a knock-on effect for speeds and connectivity due to congestion on the remaining network.
So we can investigate further, I'd recommend reaching out to our technical team and they'll be able to take a closer look.
