Hi 

My unlimited data 4G wifi mini box arrived today. Set-up well - however, when I’m connecting devices such as my laptop, or TV for Netflix or phone - instead of it using the unlimited data I have paid for, it’s using the data gifting feature to stream these devices. Why is this? Why am I paying £45 per month for a box and unlimited sim when it doesn’t work like a WiFi box but rather like an unlimited sim for your phone that only lets you gift 100G of data per month… very disappointed.

@Lloydmeyer : What makes you think it's data gifting rather than just tethering your devices?

You will have unlimited data on the plan and also have the option to gift data to another number on the same EE pay monthly account.

Each Month after your refresh Date, you will start with Unlimited Usable Data + 100gb of Giftable Data, as you start to use your UL Data yourself, it will eat into your 100gb of Giftable Data, so it will start Counting down from 100gb to 0gb, once you get down to 0gb then you have run out of Data that you can Gift, but you will still have All your Unlimited Data and still be able to use All the Devices connected to your EE4G WiFi Box.

If your not Gifting Data to another Sim Plan on your Account, then dont worry about it.

If you are or plan to Gift Data to another Sim Plan on your Account then Gift it first at the Start of every Refresh Date ideally before you start to eat into it yourself, once you have Gifted your Data (lets say you Gifted 95gb to another Sim Plan) then that 95gb is safe on the other Plan and will then not get eaten up by your own UL Data Use.
