EE Still Taking Payments For Expired Contract

CJB666
Visitor
Last year my EE contract for data expired. I then moved to Lebara. I requested termination of my direct debit payments to EE. They were £17 monthly. However they were not terminated even though I discontinued using their data WiFi device - actually it stopped connecting so I couldn't use it.

Now apparently not only am I still getting charged a monthly fee the charges have gone up to £26 - even without any notification.

How do I get EE to stop taking DD payments. Every time I delete the DD on my bank’s app. EE reinstates it.

Thanks - CJB

Hello @CJB666 ,

Welcoome to the community,

You will have to ring customer service and speak to them, as it obviously was not cancelled when you moved to Lebara.

Did you get a PAC code from EE to give to Lebara? If you did not or did not cancel by ringing customeer service then that is why you are still being charged and it was up to you to keep an eye on your bank and to discuss it with customer service.

You need to give 30 days notice to stop the payments, if you did not do it.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using web based app or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

These mobile contracts don't just end, just the min. term expires. They are not fixed term contracts. After the min. term they just carry on at the same price on a rolling 30-days' notice basis until you explicitly cancel, upgrade or port your no. away.

So, unless you ported your no. to Lebara when you joined them your contract with EE continues & they have been rightly charging you for it.
