EE 5G ROUTER SPEED TO SLOW AS COMPARE TO 5G MOBILE

I have 2 contract with EE, Mobile contract and EE 5G Router. I am getting only 20MBPS speed on 5GE router  while on mobile i am getting up to 70MBPS speed. I had a chat with EE and they told me , that could be a issue with your both sim. They send me both new sim but the issue still there. on same location 5G Router giving me only 20MBPS while mobile up to 70MBPS. I even change the router around 5 time as I was getting multiple issues with router. I confirm with EE, if there is any speed cap on my account and i been told that no speed cap on your account. This is really strange issue. I am a IT professional so i have much knowledge for troubleshooting. Even I put back router  to 4G but issue still there. EE playing around by giving you some stupid suggestion. EE is using zyxl  company Router and they put their own firmware which is locked, so you cannot even upgrade.

For my best suggestion, its time to leave this organization. how come both 5G devices give you different speed on same location.

same issue here new zte 5g moblle router. Sky sim 20mb download but capped at 12gb per month.  Went to EE unlimiter sim, now even with line of sight to 5g mast i get 1gb - 7gb down and 15gn up.  Put sim into iphone 12 and i get around 5gb - 7 gb

But' my company iphone12 with EE sim gets 75gb down and 20gb up.  So with 2 iphones side by side running speedtest to speedtester.net gives 75gb on company and 7gb on personal iphone. Swop sims and slow speed goes with my "unlimited" sim

Called EE who did loads of tests but getting no-where. Company sim in router gives great download speeds so hard to argue that my personal unlimited sim is not the issue.

Will cancell my 2 year comtract i just signed up for last week tomorrow

Morning @gmb57

Thanks for coming to the community.

Have you tried using the SIM card in other locations to see if the same happens?

If so, please call us again to get the speeds looked into in more detail with our tech guides.

Leanne.

Thanks Leanne,

Yes indeed, tried my 2 iPhone12's in another location 250 miles away from my holiday home.  Same result - Company EE sim 52mb download, new personal EE unlimited sim 4mb.  Moving sim between phones results in poor speed moving with sim.
I can only assume some sort of rate limiting / profile / QoS being applied.
Support tried to resolve, by no change in speeds

Cancelled my contract.  EE were very understanding.

Regards,

gmb

2.4 GHz or 5 GHz is the WiFi protocol, not the 4G reception. It will affect the communication speed between the router and devices in your home or business network but not to the Internet.
Personally, it does sound like your speed on that SIM is capped. EE is a bit flakey at times. Currently, I'm getting 1.1 Mbps. Most days, it disconnects altogether and I have to restart my router. Last Saturday, I had nothing most of the day.

Correct. 802.11n is typically 300 Mbps.450 in some cases.
802.11ac is 1300 Mbps.
Please note: These are MegaBITs, not MegaBYTEs. There are 8 Bits in a Byte. (4 in a Nybble. I know, sounds silly but it's true.)
