Does EE 5G Smart Hub have WiFi Enhancer & Game Mode?

Hi Everyone,

I switched back to EE 5G WiFi as I was with Three previously as they offer a much better deal, however they randomly cut my 5G coverage and it resulted in me cancelling it. I paid less than £20 a month for unlimited data and faster speeds than EE, but not here to bash them on that.

One thing that has become increasingly frustrating for me is the latency and jitter is insanely bad with EE compared to Three. Every time I play any online game it will spike the ping and jitter every couple of minutes to the point where I rubber band or teleport in game, never had this with Three at all and if they hadn’t done me dirty I wouldn’t have switched.

Ive been doing some research online and according to google there is a game mode and work mode which enhances traffic etc. for your router and it’s available for 5G routers too?

I looked in the EE App but when I go to manage, then select broadband it tells me that I don’t have broadband and that’s where this feature sits supposedly.

Not sure if this is false information but if it’s not why can I not access it as I feel it may do me some good.

if it’s not an option can anyone explain to me what is wrong with the WiFi, I am running it on an Ethernet cable to my PC so am hardwired, download speeds are good fluctuating from 150 to sometimes even 250mbps but as I say the jitter and ping/lag spikes makes a lot of games unplayable, yet on the advertising it is ‘designed for gaming supposedly’

Any help would be appreciated as if it’s still the same towards the end of my contract, I’ll definitely be looking at different options if they are available or going back to Three, if I wasn’t so far into the contract I would have cancelled it as it’s nowhere near worth the money I am paying for unlimited data, no I don’t have an option for Fibre as I am not the homeowner and rent so I have to have my own WiFi, only choice being 5G.

im really frustrated as I don’t understand how Three can have essentially flawless 5G WiFi, no lag spikes, no jitter and insane speeds of over 350mbps yet EE claiming to be the ‘Best Network’ sometimes barely gets 150 and that’s with the insane jitter and ping spikes.

Thanks and look forward to the replies!

No, those are fixed Home BB features on EE's Smart Hub Plus & Pro routers.
