Looking to use one of the 12 month data only sim in a mobile wifi.
It will be used infrequently - just needed for convenience/ emergency use.
Does the number get cancelled if not used after a
period even if its purchased for 12 months

That's what I thought but mine was and they'll not do anything about it - I'll never use all the data I just wanted the convenience of having access to it if I needed it when away from home

EE PAYG SIMs are deactivated after 6 months of non-chargeable use. You then have a further 3 months to call EE to reactivate it before it is lost completely.
You needed to make a chargeable action like making a chargeable call or text, topping up or buying an Add-on, not just using your pre-paid data.

Hi @Belse.
Your contract number wouldn't be cancelled with infrequent use.
This does happen with pay as you go SIM cards as mentioned above, but not pay monthly SIM only deals.

Were you paying for it every month or did you pay it all upfront? If the latter, you'll find it was a 12-month prepaid data SIM to which the PAYG rules nonsensically apply.
