I topped up my SIM card but I still can't access the internet, messages or calls.

Topping-up is just putting money as credit on it. Have you bought a data add-on with it?

Visit http://add-on.ee.co.uk/status from a device connected to your mobile router by WiFi to see your data & credit status as well as its mobile no. at the top. What does it say, obscuring your mobile no.?

You sure you have a mobile BB router? You can't make calls from them.
