Hello, I will buy my first iPhone when the new iPhone 14 Pro Max comes out next month. I currently have TalkTalk home broadband but as I rarely use my landline, I want to cancel my home broadband subscription with TalkTalk as soon as I have my new iPhone. What I would like to know is could a high end EE sim plan give me good speed on an Apple MacBook Pro laptop at home by tethering from an EE sim on my iPhone? Or do you recommend an EE mobile hotspot or router?
Also, what would be the best sim plan for all day internet usage at home using my laptop and few hours when I need internet for browsing and checking emails, etc, on an iPhone when I'm not at home?
If it helps, I rarely stream/download music, videos, or games from the internet. Mostly use it for browsing and listening to music I purchase from Apple Music and watching movies I download from Apple Music or Amazon Prime Video. Look forward to hearing from anyone including an EE tech staff. Thanks.

@Light775 You just need to know how much data you think you’ll need.
even the tariffs that only give a top speed of 100Meg will be suitable. The unlimited network speeds are nice but you pay more for it.
have a look at sim only tariffs HERE just select 12 or 24 months. The longer the tariff term the cheaper it is for the same amount of data.
on tethering to your MacBook, do this via a cable and don’t do it via a Wi-Fi connection from iPhone to MacBook. You’ll then only be restricted by the network speed. Why get a router when your phone can do this.

As @Chris_B points out, I would also strongly recommend that you try and calculate how much Data you may need per month, as EE do have FUP on Data Usage on their Unlimited Data Plans, especially if you plan on using a Phone Sim as a replacement for your Home Broadband.
