5gee router - check data usage

I have the unlimited data plan on my 5gee router. However, I am aware there is an upper limit to this. I don't think I'm near the limit, but is there a way to check data usage on the 5gee router so that I can be sure I won't exceed it?

Hi @cnmacfadyen

There isn't a way to check how much data you have used on an unlimited plan. If you reach near the fair usage policy, we will contact you to let you know.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for letting me know. That's disappointing, it would be great to have a way to check this.

Doesn't your router tell you usage?

If your Unlimited Data Sim sits permanently in your 5G Router, then you can set the Routers Data Counter to coincide with your EE Plan Monthly Refresh Date, just set the Monthly Start Date on the Router to the same Start Date of your Refresh Date, you can also set your Counter Usage to the Plans FUP (600gb or 1000gb on some older Plans). Should you move your UL Data Sim to another Device or Sim Swop in the Router then the Data Usage Counter will no longer be accurate.

EE only send you text alerts for 80% and 100% usage on your Giftable Data Allowance (which can be ignored if you do not Data Gift), EE do not inform you in real time when you reach your FUP limit.

Not that I can see, hence my question on here! Do you know of a way to check?

Pretty sure you can check your usage at:

https://myaccount.ee.co.uk/exp/myee-web/usage-since-latest-bill

My question to EE though, if you go over the FUP (1TB), what actually happens? Are you throttled to a certain speed?

@korvington : The FUP is now 600GB pm unless you took your unlimited data plan out ages ago.

@XRaySpeX - I took it out a few weeks ago and my FUP is 1TB.

My concern is what happens once I go over the FUP.

Edit:

Unless I'm getting my max data (unlimited, but is 1TB) mixed with FUP. I assumed it was the same once you reach the cap.

@korvington : Where do you see "1TB"? Not for recent contracts.

See How do Unlimited Plans work? :

Unlimited Plans: Uncapped and Unlimited data - Personal, non-commercial use only. If you regularly tether 12 or more devices, we will consider this non-personal use and have the right to move you to a more suitable plan. We will consider usage above 600GB/month to be non-personal use and have the right to apply traffic management controls to deprioritise your mobile traffic during busy periods or to move you to a business plan.
