Hi, I need an answer quickly as I work from home.
I purchased a 4g home router a few months ago and put an unlimited sim in it. I also paid £100 to get an antenna installed. Everything was working perfectly up until a week ago, my 4g speeds are around 20-30mbps, but my phone 4g is 50-60mbps. My 4g router always got the same, if not better than my phone.
what do I do?
thanks
Mel

Hi everyone,
So I rang EE tech support last night, as my phones in the house who are also 4g we’re getting 70ish mbps, router was getting 10. Before ringing them, I took my sim out my phone, put it into the router, and got 65mbps still, so I know it isn’t the router. They tried to say that the sim is damaged that I have in my router. Anyways, I put the sim from the router into my phone, played around with cellular setting, activated 5g, turned it off again etc, and WOLLAH!! I put the sim back in the router and I’m now getting 70mbps on everything again. The sim just needed resetting or something. Don’t ask how I done it, but worth everyone trying it to see if it helps

I am experiencing the exact problem and have just come across your post but disappointed to see no one has replied to it yet. Can someone help? My phone 4g is getting 50mbps plus. 2-3 months ago my router speeds were the same. Now my router gets about 20mbps and my phone is getting 50mbps. What’s happening?!

Hi @Issy7
Could you try restarting the device? They could both be connected to different masts.

Hi @Issy7
Welcome to the community.
What kind of problems is this causing you? Have you tried restarting the device?

Well I use the router to work from home and connect to a VPN so I need the fastest 4g speed available. Had the router 4 months always had the same speeds on it as my phone until a week ago. I’ve factory reset it twice, no difference

Thanks @Issy7
Is it causing a problem with your connection? 20-30mbps should be steady enough for most programs.
If you're having problems, it may be worth speaking to our technical support team.

Vpn lowers my download speed, and I work until 8pm some nights so my 20mbps can drop to like 5-6mbps. I get what you’re saying but I was getting the same as my phone so I’ll contact tech support, maybe a faulty router

It’s strange. I suffer with the same problem, but even when the speed test shows 20mbps (which isn’t horrific but considering my phone gets 3 times that in the same spot, it’s pretty bad) some websites feel like I’m loading them at bloody dial up speed! It’s just turned to a really unreliable connection.
