4GEE Router doesn't connect to devices with foreign sim cards

Hi all,

so, I have a 4GEE mobile broadband router because no fibre internet available here (I rent). I bought my phone in Germany but it runs with a Smarty sim. My laptop is also from Germany. Neither of them have an issue connecting to the router (ditto my smart tv). But I have had friends and family over from Germany to stay for a bit. Neither of their devices was able to connect to the router. One was an iPhone, one a no name budget phone. I also have a second phone with a German sim and it too does not connect so I can't update anything.

I have tried to switch the devices off an on again, changed the router password, reset the router (pressed reset button 10 secs+). Nothing at all has worked so my guests don't really have any reliable internet because this is the country. All the device's software is up to date. Any ideas why the router seems to reject phones with foreign sim cards and what to do about it?

Thanks.

@karo_temi  why not try and use a QR code app the creates a QR code for a device to read to connect to the router   You can download one from the play store or App Store.    I use Wi-Fi QR.
You connect with your device to the router open the app and enter the router details and this creates a QR code that the other devices use via the camera to connect to the router.
