4G Wifi hUB FROM Argos - no way of getting more data once it runs out...

So, my daughter's Virgin Media router is dead, and I decided to buy her an EE 4G mini hub so that she has some sort of service whilst VM sort the problem out (5 days!).  It's preloaded with 30G.  After 2 and 1/2 days it's run out.  She tries to register the device, but when you try to do so, you need to be able to connect to the device with a phone or laptop/pc to be able to register it.  It has no data left..so no way to connect to it with another device.   At least as far as we can see.  I tried registering it to my existing EE account, but I am in one place, she is in another...so I can't even connect to the Wifi device to register it.  How are we supposed to get more more data?

@anggreaves : Look at http://add-on.ee.co.uk/purchase from a device connected to your mobile router by WiFi to see what data add-ons are available.

Hi

Thanks for reply.  But that's not really the issue.  Because the device did not have a registered account before it ran out of data, there is no way of registering the device so that you can then add data.  You have to connect to the device to register it.  It's out of data, so you can't connect to it to register it.  Vicious circle as far as I can see.

Thanks

Yes, it is! You don't need to register it to MyEE nor have any remaining data to access the EE Add-on Data pages. They are accessed entirely from within the EE network, before you get to the Net where data is required. What happens when you go to that page?

Also, tried going to add-onee.co.uk and there is an error message on the page... At least for me. Says it's forbidden!

Morning @anggreaves

Can you try clearing cookies and cache on the device and try opening the add-on page in a new web browser or different browser to the one you have used before?

Leanne 🙂

Did you manage to sort this issue? I’m having a similar one and going round in circles!

Not resolved yet. The website link for add ons that was given in this trail
doesn't work...or didn't when I last tried it.

Your be better off doing all this by putting the Data Sim in a Network Free Phone and doing it that way.

The Data Allowance is for general Internet use, you can still access certain EE Web Sites for Free without any Data Allowance.
