Today my wife and I drove into town, 45 minutes travel, to visit an EE shop.
We wanted to move a phone from my account to hers, a 'change of ownership' in shop talk. As this process would need actions by both of us we thought an in-person visit would be best, as we would both be there to prove who we were.
Unfortunately that wasn't the case. We were told we'd have to do the transfer by calling customer services.
45 minute drive home, then a 20 minute phone call, and all was sorted.
Before all this, I had been all over the EE site trying to find how to do it online. Nowadays phoning is the last option, you never know if you are going to get a dyslexic robot handling it.
Why can't a shop do a 'change of ownership' in person ?

Well searched, but not the answer I wanted.
Why can't the change be made in the shop ?.
