Its been recommended that I contact EE to report the fact my mobile number is being spoofed. First, it was a Nottingham landline (and I know nobody there) who called me to say I'd been calling them. Yesterday, I was phoned by a Brighton landline (and I don't know anyone from there either) saying the same. Both sounded like older women, possibly retired, so vulnerable to being duped.
A while back I received SMS messages about jobs when I wasn't even looking.
I checked my email on the "have I been pwnd'" site Alice Beer from Watchdog recommends and three data breaches were listed. One cannot be too careful these days.
It looks like I need to speak to a person. 😞

I get this all the time because I have a memorable number.
Number spoofing is a real problem but EE won't be able to do anything, the most they can do is change your mobile number. Usually the scammers move on from one number range to another, unless you're willing to change your number I suggest you wait it out.
With the SMS, are you using an iPhone and do you have RSC enabled? I've found since they enabled it I've had an increase in spam RCS messages.
