My personal thoughts.
Ive been an EE customer for years, never had an issue. So this is just a personal thought, EETV why?? I mean, i just don't get it. I have 3 smart TVs, all obviously have built in Freeview, which is never watched. All have app stores, Netflix, prime, Disney, paramount, Now etc. so why would EE try to palm off something nearly everyone have already built in to TVs. I could get my head around it if most people still had standard TVs without internet access, then yes you'd have everything there in one place. It just seems to me they're a bit behind the times. Rant over lol.

If all you use is apps then you could say the same about any TV provider. You're clearly not the target audience.
Other people like to watch live TV. EE TV adds a number of other channels that aren't available on Freeview, as well as allowing you to record those channels. It also provides an interface that allows you to search all channels and all apps to find what you want to watch, as well as integrating them all into one bill each month.
You're right though - there's nothing EE TV provides that couldn't be done yourself on a Smart TV, if you're technically competent enough.
