Xbox Series X No longer compatible

Hi there,

I received an Xbox Series X with Game Pass Ultimate back in July 2024. Everything was going fine until the last two weeks. It suddenly doesn't want to output 4K or HDR to my Gaming Monitor (LG Ultragear) even though it was fully compatible before. My PS5 is working fine and recognises it as a 4K monitor and has all the modes available. I have tried all the troubleshooting steps specified by Microsoft and any suggestions from YouTube and nothing seems to be working. When setting it to Manual HDMI it will only allow 1440p with 60HZ (It was allowing 120HZ Previously). I have also tried a different monitor and HDMI cables and the results are the same - again no issues previously.

Oddly enough my Daughters Xbox Series S has the same issue and will not allow the system to run at the native display spec. My only guess is that MS has released an update that has disabled compatibility with certain screens which has rendered my system not fit for it's original purpose. As it's on a contract where do I stand as it is not doing that it was originally purchased for?

Hi @jokerz798321

Your contract is not impacted and you'll still need to pay for the device.

If MS have made changes then you'll need to take the issue up with them. I would start on their community as there must be other users in a similar position.

Thanks
