I paid £55  when in florida but didn't get a good service ,not happy  

I’ve had the same issues in the US. 1) have previously been able to make calls on other holidays2) manually tried other networks and none work3) can’t make in country calls - no calls at all (unless on wifi or 4G (WhatsApp/facetime))
