Connecting PlayStation Portal outside of home network

Jonnycarps

So I brought out portal on holiday and it won’t connect.

The PS5 is setup correctly, straight to LAN and over 500mbs. In rest mode and settings are correct. The portal works perfectly on the home network.

However, as soon as try outside of home network it cannot connect at all.

Is this a router blocking issue?

I've got my isp coming out on Saturday, I'm paying for a static ip and having the network updated to ipv6.

This should allow easier setup for allowing the incoming traffic specific to device IP/mac.

Costing me an extra £5 a month, so ee, fancy knocking £5 off my bill per month?

Only have to do it because of your nat 3, which was confirmed with engineer who suggested all the above to get around that challenge.

Not everybody has the desire to goto such lengths though. And as a gentleman above said, his Three mini works a treat.

But your mobile wifi isn't exactly conducive to the task at hand.  It's alot of data to stream a ps5 game at 4k hdr.

I just joined EE at the same time as getting a portal and was very disappointed to see that it wouldn’t work. I have tried the fixes that I could find and am still unable to connect to remote play on the portal. I wouldn't mind so much, but I still live at home and so cannot fiddle with the home broadband settings about ports and whatnot.

I have no WiFi in work and so thought this new unlimited EE data plan would be my saviour during my lunch break, only to find it’s entirely incompatible with the portal. Not quite sure how I am supposed to fix this so that I can use my portal on my data hotspot though.

I have the same issue but EE refuse to help me at all. They keep saying it’s an issue with the Portal but IS NOT. I know because when I was with SKY, I he Portal worked away from home without any issues at all so it is 100% an EE home router issue.

I have tried port forwarding, even put the PS5 onto DMZ and still the portal will not work away from home.

It’s not a PlayStation issue at all, it’s your router at ee

Yes it is. It’s an EE router issue but they refuse to help with this. It is categorically not a PlayStation issue although they have tried to help with ideas and advice.

EE should not be selling the Portal if it won’t work away from home due to their own router settings and their must be a way to resolve the issue!!

I’ve done all that nothing works. EE just won’t help and the issue is with EE router settings so there is no reason they can’t help fix it.
Terrible service. Never had these issues with SKY.

It isn’t a PlayStation issue. It is an EE router issue. Surely to goodness someone at your end must be able to find a workaround? After all you sell the PSPortal. I am still waiting for the correct advice and help feom EE!!!

How many times???? It is not a PlayStation issue. It’s an EE router issue. Why are EE not helping with this. It is a known issue as you can see by the number of posts about it. It’s shockingly bad customer service, terrible.

please can we get a proper answer on how to fix the issues. The Portal won’t work away from home if you have an EE router so the settings need changing and EE Can help but seem reluctant to do so.

This is such a lazy answer. It is not a PlayStation issue. It’s the EE router settings

I’ve done all this and it still won’t work away from home. And when you say reset router, do you nit mean to restart it? Resetting will wipe any settings you already have in place
