Hi,
On both my mobile and for my dongle I get a 403 "Forbidden. You don't have permission to access this resource." error message when I try to access it.
I noticed this issue was reported in August and one of the suggested solutions was to clear the browser's cache, cookies etc. which I have done and it does not fix the problem.
Any suggestions? Thanks

Hi Jackyg, I use 4Gee and Microsoft Edge for my laptop, I was getting that dreaded forbidden message also, when I clicked on the Data check link. My solution was as follows:- on the top browser it shows as such -
You don't have permission to access this resource.
However if you copy the top url, firstly remove the s from https://
Instead only have http:// from the forbidden page shown, paste this into I.E. ( internet explorer browser ) it should take you to a page that opens with your required information.
Works for me, hopefully You also.

Oh thanks so much for this and taking the time to reply! I will try that, using http rather than https - it's on my Mum's laptop but I'll be at hers at the weekend and will give it a go. I'm glad it worked for you - fingers crossed it does for us too as an easy solution if so. Really appreciate you taking the time to reply.

Hopefully work for you and your mum....good luck 😊

@Jackyg Just remember that the trick won't work (easily) with Chromium-based browsers such as Chrome, Chromium itself and the new MS-Edge. Those browsers ignore the request for data over a non-secure connection and revert to https:// whether you want them to or not.

I hope so too - she's 93 and all the time in the world but gets very cross when thing don't work immediately :)!

Ah yes - I was just reading through the earlier comments and saw where you mentioned that before. We do have MS edge so maybe this won't work - it was fine until a recent automatic Edge update :(. You would think EE would keep up with such updates - or at least would act quickly when people start raising it! As you pointed out this thread is looking at the status whereas my issue goes further as we can't add-on data but the 'forbidden' error is the same so I was hoping the same fix might work.... I may have to roll back the update and stop it doing any further - which will please my Mum (it's her laptop) as updates take time! I'll try at the weekend anyway and if not may have to call EE.... Again, really appreciate the advice, thank you.

@Jackyg Rolling back to a version that doesn't automatically redirect to https:// is not the solution. The solution is EE fixing their server configuration so that the webserver actually serves the content over a secure connection.
Do you really want to give credit card information and have personal information transported over a non-secure connection?

Hi grsdev, I agree its not the best solution but for me it was a try and see what happens, I was persistant and finally it opened the lost page and the data plan i had paid for.

Oh gosh yes, I hadn't thought of that - thanks SO MUCH!. I'll have to call EE and pester! If only their technical people were as helpful and responsive as people on this community.

I've the same 'forebidden' message. This makes paying EE any money impossible as I can't allocate any credit against a suitable 'Buy Data' option.
My solution will be to use the current credit (allocated before access was 'forebidden' ) and then go elsewhere.
Life's too short. I have no problems with other payment sites and I've neither the time nor the patience to run around trying to get EE to accept my money.
