No code to change email address

Trying to edit/change my email address via the website, but it will not send me a verification code so I can do so. Tried a few times. Please don't tell me I need to call them! Aggghhhh!

Hi Gollom,

Welcome to the EE Community 🙂

I am sorry you are having an issue receiving a PIN via e-mail, I have just tested it out and the system is working at the moment, are you still having an issue today? 

The e-mails are not ending up in any spam or junk folder are they? Have you tried requesting the e-mail change via another browser?

Thanks for the reply. Just tried again and now it says: We were unable to generate a passcode. Please try again later.

 
Also tried in another browser and it won't even send an authentication code (as it's the first time I have tried on that browser)
 
Nothing in spam, junk etc.
 
Any thoughts please? Calling them is my last resort as you can bet they will not understand the issue!! I also have a hearing problem - not enough to use Relay but enough that I can not always understand non-UK accents

@Gollom Do you have any VPN setup on your connection and have you tried doing it on both Wi-Fi and Mobile data?

It being a new browser wont cause any issues sending one, what did it say on the other browser?

I was preparing a suitably technical reply as to why it did not work

But what the heck - USER ERROR!! I was not reading the screen properly. And this from someone who was in IT from the days when you had to actually PAY for email and the 80286 processor was the up and coming thing

Ah I am glad to hear you have found the issue @Gollom thanks for getting back to me to let me know.

Sometimes its the simple things that you can miss, happens to the best of us even with all your experience 🙂
