@2Hetty   So when not gift data during the day ?

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

As @Chris_B has written, try doing it earlier, not at night, when the app is likely being updated, you should all know that you need to gift data earlier in the evening or during the day, when the app is working, rather than late at night.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using web based app or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

My daughter is 18 she was out in Cardiff for the night using more data than normal. She ran out. It’s not like she checks every five minutes to see what is left as a mother of an 18 year-old in a big city. You do tend to panic when they’re out of data and yes, I would’ve gave her more if I’d known that the app was going to shut down on me at night, thank you

I did read what  Chris B Had said thank you and as I said to him having an 18-year-old in a big city running out of data is not ideal. I do not check to see how much she has left every five minutes and neither does she you don’t expect an app to be down without notice and when you have an 18 year-old without data you do tend to panic in future will make sure that she has enough, but on this one occasion she did not !!!!

Serious question... why? Has she been out in a city centre overnight before?

I've no idea how streetwise your 18year old daughter is, but Cardiff's a pretty safe city and I can think of far worse problems there than not having data.

EE have "stay-connected" data which provides a basic connection, sufficient for web-browsing, Google Maps and similar, even if your daughter was out-of-allowance. Voice calls & text messages would still have been possible without this. And heck, if an ultra-fast connection was essential then I'd even suggest using the multitude of unsecured WiFi hotspots that seem to litter our high-streets these days.

I'm genuinely at a loss why this was anything other than a minor annoyance, but really interested to understand.

Because she told me that she would not be able to make a call or text .. I hope you can now understand why I was worried not everyone is as clued up with mobile phones!! For myself they are a way of staying in contact and when I thought she was going to run out of data I did panic because it was her first time out in night clubs

that’s it …
