Can't change password

Upon logging in I was asked to change my password, but when I try, I'm only halfway through typing my new password when the page refreshes and shows a message "Your password has been changed". Great, but that's not the password I chose because I wasn't done typing it.
Chrome/Windows.
Please advise.

@BlueCookie1 , have you tried clearing your cache and cookies to see if that works?
