Roaming abroad school trip

How do I sort out roaming for a child going abroad before they go? Can't speak to anyone from EE and only option seems to be buy when you get there....which I can't do! any ideas? thanks

If the child is on PAYG, ensure they have used their phone in the UK before travelling abroad. If on pay-monthly, enable the free roaming facility by texting ROAMING to 150 before leaving the UK.

Costs for specific countries can be found at https://ee.co.uk/help/help-new/roaming-costs and following the prompts. The child should receive a text message when they first connect to a foreign network with instructions on buying an add-on.

Would rather she didn't have to do it. Bit annoying we can't sort this out for her before she goes. Thanks for replying!

When she gets there she'll be invited to buy a roaming pass which when she does it will be charged to your a/c much like as if you bought it.
