why does my landline display say out of area now we have switched to digital

Since switching to digital voice my landline displays 'out of area' when calls come through.  It displays the number, but my phone used to 'announce' the number or name of person calling, but this no longer happens.  Can anyone solve this, thanks.

Thank you very much for this suggestion.....I dialled the landline from my mobile and not only did my name and number display correctly, it also announced the call.   Not entirely sure what made it happen, but everything looks normal at the moment👍, so thanks again for your time and trouble😀

@Molly888 What phone do you have connected to the router, and were do you have it plugged into?

I have a Panasonic phone and it is plugged into the green box at the back of the router.

@Molly888 Model off the Panasonic would help, caller announcement feature can be switched off on the phone, but you are correct that the caller display does kick it all off, will try to pin down for you if i can.

@Molly888 Feature worked fine on the KX-TGH723 model, had it programmed on my dad's phone to announce caller, but sadly he passed before i managed to transfer service to EE, so that was with sky's service at that time, and was a non DV service, standard landline connection....

The model number of the Panasonic phone is on the base of the main phone (triple set) and is KX-TGE720E and the S/N is OLBXC019840. Thanks for your input!

@Molly888 Only thing i can think off, dial your landline from your mobile, pay close attention to the number displayed on the phone. Make sure the phone book entry off the phone matches exactly as displayed, if not same edit the phone book and retest. If the same have a look in the phone settings that the system has the caller announcement turned on.

@Molly888 All you can do is keep the eye on it, at least you know it has worked once.👍🤞
