Digital Voice issues

Hi

Recently migrated from another isp for my fttp 500mb with digital Voice.

Fttp is working great, but having issues with maintaining digital Voice.

After a couple of weeks faffing, I got it sorted (registering phone etc) at it was ok, but this week callers can't hear me, nor can I hear them.... The phone rings and there is a dial tone.....

Any ideas guys?

Thanks

Mines been off for 4 of the last 5 days and I am fed up of it.... No pattern, and reboots don't always work and I lose time, so I've escaped to the complaints dept... Let's see if that brings anything (not much hope here though)

I also moved from BT to EE. Never had any issues with BT.

I have had four engineers out and still the problems with poor internet connection and phones constantly have no dial tone or the caller cannot hear me.

I have elderly parents who rely on calling my landline.

We are paying for a service that we are not getting.

Having read everyone’s comments I do not think a new router or new handsets with solve the issues.

So time consuming and frustrating - surely EE have a solution by now.

@Nicmil12 It is good to know the whole/full history. Are you a user who moved from BT Digital Voice with no issues to the New EE Digital Voice now with issues on both Broadband and Voice connections?

I was a previous BT customer who moved to EE, moved straight on to digital voice - constant problems with the WiFi and digital voice.

@Nicmil12 And your next question is did you change package etc fttc to fttp, and were you upgraded to new equipment this may have been required for the digital voice side of things new router perhaps?

The voice change is unfortunate, most ISP force digital now and some are good at it others not. Your problems are they with the broadband connection or do you consider this to be Wi-Fi wireless issues, they are separate but can be a cause of each. Did any of the engineer visits not give you a clue, intermittent faults are the hardest to get fixed. More info is needed if you require assistance. HTH

Failed again.  This time no issues since 10-03-2024.  Reset hub and now working again.

Since moving to the EE digital phones (about£45 for the duo), I've not had the issue (touch wood).

I also have the EE digital phones and the problem reoccurred again today.   Resetting router solves the issue.

Seems to be happening once every month or so.

We too have had the same problem, in the end I took the whole issue to the ombudsman which was a complete waste of time. They ruled that as it was an intermittent fault - they could not advise EE to release me from my 18 month contract!  The conclusion is that EE Digital Voice is not fit for purpose in our household - and as soon as our contract period is up we are going elsewhere!

@PH36 I've had DV with BT for over 4 years and never had any issues. I moved to EE at the start of May and they replaced the SH2 with the EE router. Just over two weeks ago I had the problem for the first time, the phone rings and when answered I can't hear anyone and they can't hear me, just silence.

The BT SH2 used to restart itself every 2 weeks without fail in the early hours, the EE Smart Hub Plus doesn't from what I can see. When I had the fault the router had been up for just over 30 days, a reboot fixed it. It's now at 15 days so they clearly don't have a reboot schedule.

You'd expect that a bug as basic as this to have been fixed before they launched this router. Also, as far as I can see you can't export your Contacts with the EE router either.
