I have plugged my phone into the DVA and it gets a solid green light (it's right next to the hub).
However, when I try to make a call the DVA green light always starts to flash (suggesting there's an issue with the DECT connection to the hub). There is still a dial tone and can call out but the quality is a bit ragged. When I stop the call the green light immediataely goes solid again.
Any advice/observations most appreciated.
Thanks
Colin

@BartonEnd Did you download the document from the link i sent? Extracted from the DVA Manual...
What your Digital Voice
Adapter light means
1 On initial plug in – flashes 0.5 seconds on,
2 seconds off
2 During registration – flashes quickly
0.5 seconds on, 0.5 seconds off
3 Once registered – stays solid green
4 During a call – flashes slowly 1 second on,
1 second off
5 Once registered, if there’s a connection
problem with your broadband – flashes
0.5 seconds on and 2 seconds off.
Maximum Digital
Voice devices
You can register a maximum of 5 Digital Voice
devices (that includes Digital Voice Handsets
or Digital Voice Adapters) to your new Hub at

@BartonEnd Is this question relevant any more now you have sorted out the wiring socket wise. You should also have a look on the forum for the DVA not working sending key press tones when requested ie, press 1 to do whatever does not function from the DVA.

Hi Jim
Still relevant.
Although the distant phone now works by being plugged into the back of the hub via the original house BT phone wiring, this uses up the phone socket in the back of the hub. Another phone close to the hub which cannot connect to the old BT socket (because it is now used by the connection to the hub) needs to use the DVA to communicate with the hub.

@BartonEnd The DV adapter connects to the DECT digital side of the EE Smarthub+ just like a BT Digital phone, if you have managed to pair it with the router, as long as it is within the range of the DECT signal is should be fine, you can have a look at it on the hub manager, http://192.168.1.254 when you bring it closer to the hub it should be ok, if not you can reset it and pair it again, the BT site has a useful document on the DV adapter, nothing on the EE site. Or take a look at the video top of the post.
Document also explains the two operations of the green led....

Hi Jim
The DVA is right next to the hub (about 12 inches away) and is paired with it. So it is showing a solid green light pretty much constantly. However, when I start to use the phone that is connected to the DVA (the phone dock's phone cable is plugged into the DVA), the DVA green light immediately starts to flash as if it has lost signal connection with the hub. Seems very odd.

Hi Jim
I hadn't noticed the link and in particular the reference to the DVA light flashing while in use. On checking, when the phone is in use the light is flashing 1 s on/1s off rather than the type of flashing pattern when it is connecting. So this seems to be normal.
Thanks for responsing so swiftly, knowledgeably and helpfully.
Seems I am all fixed now.
Best Regards
Colin

@BartonEnd Got it, when you need all the other oddities about the DVA are also posted in the home phone section when you need them.🙄👍

I think the flashing green light means that the phone is in use...that's all. The fact that it goes back to solid green when you hang up means that the call has ended. As for ragged call out suggest moving the DVA and phone to another socket within the room. Once paired the DVA should be able to be anywhere in the house.
Hope this helps
