I moved to EE from PlusNet with DV on Monday. Into the EE smart hub I had plugged an analogue, standalone phone and into an EE adapter I had a BT4500 DECT base unit with 3 handsets. Initially, all worked fine, until the afternoon of 21/7 when the BT4500 Base showed 'please check line cord' - I went through all the usual checking of cords (I have several spare), security of connection, etc to no avail. I then tried plugging in the non-DECT phone which was originally plugged into the hub to the adapterband got a dialling tone. I then plugged the DECT base unit into the hub - no tone and 'please check line cord' message. This morning (22/7) I unplugged the DECT base (power and line), took out the batteries, left for while, put batteries back in, reconnected everything, did the setup wizard on the DECT and hey presto, dialling tone when plugged into the hub.
However...none of the other DECT handsets linked to the base work - I see the 'Please check line cord' (even though these handsets do not have a cord, only a power connection!). I have reset, de-registered, re-registered the handsets and no joy.
Any ideas?

Thanks Jim, I'll try the power off hub/DVA option and let you know how I get on!

@Medallion_Moose Just sounds like your re-register to the Base has not worked correctly, suggest you turn off the hub/dva or redo the handset's to the base well away from the EE Hub or the DVA incase your base station is getting confused by the EE Equipment transmissions.
Do check the light on the DVA few reported complete loss connection with them recently even though they may or may not look correct, when switched off on the DVA it never recovers to the on/paired condition. And it looks more like your EE Hub ATA connection gave up the ghost connection wise.

Thank you Jim, I will give those things a try - the adapter light has been stable, but I was indeed trying to re-register the handsets with the DECT base close to the hub.

@Medallion_Moose The old BT4500's are somewhat obsoleted now due to there age, but hopefully they are not a DECT clash issue, personally would be turning off both the EE Hub and the DVA until the phones are setup and connected to the BT4500 base again.

Hi Jim, what I actually did was - as the BT4500, though aged, is GAP compatible - is register the handsets to the EE hub - it wasn't entirely obvious what was happening, as the handset(s) displayed 'press and hold find phone on base' but actually they were registering to the EE hub. So now all works. Many thanks and have a good day!

@Medallion_Moose OK got you now, just be aware that those ones registered to the EE Hub Dect do not have any access now to the Old answering system on the BT4500 base station, so you have to treat it all differently especially in a DV Voicemail type situation, but you have the handle on it all now. Think MAX allowed connections to the EE Hub is 5 devices in total, you will now be at three, DVA and Two handset's, all the management etc is EE Hub and NOT the BT Dect phone.
Either use the EE App to do it all or the web manager interface on https://192.168.1.254
