I had to pay £50 upfront in store for my phone but they are now saying that I have to pay a £50 deposit on my first bill is this right?

Ive been quite lazy in not monitoring my mob phone bill for a while. It’s now much more than I expected the following are of interest :1) unlimted data use age : do I really need this ?2) calls to 08456 prefix : not sure of this one.

Rejecting my payment online

Why are EE just rejecting my payments online? I can't even set up a direct debit as it just says the sort code is invalid, had no issues previously paying by card, I've tried 3 times and they just reject the payment. Yet it says my account is overdue...
