When to upgrade SIM-only contract

With RPI raising my current contract at the end of March, I’m currently looking at deals from EE to upgrade my SIM-only plan, with my current contract ending October 2022. However, I am worried that if I upgrade before the end of the month, my new deal will be subject to the RPI increase too. Is this correct?

Also, I’m looking to purchase an extra SIM-only deal for my new iPad but have the same concern as above, plus not really sure how to find the best deal for my iPad.

Any help would be much appreciated.

As long as you upgrade or order a new contract anytime from 1st March you will not be subject to this year's price increase.

I've only seen EE Community staff saying so on here.
