How much VAT do I pay on my phone bill. Where can I see this on my bill?

@JANGLES58 If this is a business account it’ll log VAT separately. If it doesn’t then it’s a consumer account. If you call customer services they tell you what sort of account this is

Thank you. After a year I guess this is the route I need to take.

Thank you Chris_B. My understanding is that I signed up for a business account from the outset, but the invoice has only ever shown the gross amount. It should not matter which type of account I have to be honest, it doesn't take much to set up a system to show VAT and I really do not understand the organisation's reluctance to do it; what difference would it make to them?

I am about to start the same fight with EE.
The VAT regulations ( 1995 No. 2518, PART III , Regulation 13 ) entitle everyone to a VAT invoice (https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1995/2518/regulation/13/made) ... I would advise EE to read the law maybe and stop being scum bags.

I wish you luck. I have now cancelled one contract with them and will cancel the second in May at the end of it's period after being told that they would charge me £270 to cancel early - even though I was looking at another one of their packages! Well done EE for losing a customer of 5-years 👏

@JANGLES58 why would EE allow you to have a different package and not pay off the remaining contract as an upgrade even if that new package was more? You agreed to a contract for a minimum period which means you agreed to pay that amount for that minimum period.

@NotTellingYou21 You actually think EE have looked in to this. ? Only by you being VAT registered and having a business account do EE have to provide a VAT invoice, on a consumer plan the VAT is inclusive.

I too thought this breakdown had to be legally provided.

@TS001 Not on a consumer tariff. Only by yourself being VAT registered and having a business account will VAT be shown on a separate line for VAT purposes.
Even before it changed to show VAT inclusive the old bill style that did show it separate did state it wasn’t an invoice for VAT purposes which some customers did use it for which in itself is questionable.
