Text asking to make extra payment?

CatPer

Hi I’ve received a text this morning saying my usage has been higher than normal and requesting I make an additional payment? When I’ve checked my EE account my phone and my parents phones show no additional usage or charges? Is the text a scam??

Hi @CatPer

Yes it sounds like a scam. EE wouldn't request any payment like this it would be billed monthly.

Thanks

I know you've posted this across several other threads, but I wouldn't be so sure.

Bank details would normally be requested by means of a phishing "click here to update your details" message. These messages specifically ask you to call CS on 150 who already have your bank details.

There may be a system error, but this doesn't have any of the usual hallmarks of a scam.
