I've just had a text telling me that as I have a Spend Cap I've been barred from some chargeable services. The cap was news to me - I've checked my account and it's showing a zero cap. Any idea what may be happening please?

Hi @Teedeeaitch
Welcome to the community.
A zero cap means that you cannot use certain chargeable services.
Text SPEND CAP to 150 for your options.
If you change your spend cap, the spend cap amount with change from your next bill date. If you pause your spend cap, the spend cap will be removed and will resume on your next bill date. If you remove it, it will be removed straight away until you request to re-add it.

Hello Support Team
I have also had a text message about my Spend Cap that makes no sense to me either.
I haven't registered for a spend cap. But according to the text message I have only 80% left of it!
Please can you explain to us all why we are getting text messages at this time, and more importantly what IS a spend cap. You say it means we cannot use certain chargeable services. What are these? And what have I used 80% of that I am not aware of?
Thanks for your help

Hello @lauranewman1.
A spend cap is an option you can choose to limit how much you spend on top of your monthly plan.
You can remove or adjust your spend caps within your My EE account.

I had the same questions and found the answer by searching "spend cap". I don't recall being offered it. Once I reached the spend cap I can't call certain numbers, like 0800, etc..

@Geneva : You've misread whatever you read. You may always call 0800 nos. They are free & unrestricted on all tariffs.

Why has this spend cap been imposed on my account without previously informing me. I have never agreed to a spend cap. What is going on?

Hello @fredbloggs49.
A spend cap can be added, adjusted and removed from your My EE account.
If you wish to know when this was applied, please give us a call on 150.

Just tried to change the spend cap online and changed fron No Spend cap to 0.00. However, when you click the Change Cap button is isn't working. Bottom line is you can have as many options as you like but if the system is rubbish then you don't get anywhere.
