Soon I will be upgrading from a legacy plan to a new sim only plan, as the current one is rolling over since Oct 2017, and isn't fit for purpose.
This new plan includes a generous data allowance and one smart benefit, however I forgot to ask the upgrades team this question when I upgraded.
For the extras (roaming pass, TNT sports etc) is there a fixed period when they have to be activated, or can they be swapped as needed?
The reason behind the question is that I travel frequently, and usually we book the tickets, roughly 1.5 weeks before travelling to accommodate the various school and university holidays.
TIA

@dgmjr2018 you can swap a smart benefit every 30 days, so the moment you swap it the first time you will not be able to change it again until 30 days later.

My smart benefit has changed and I did not do anything to change it. I had roaming to include the USA and now it’s just EU. How go I change this back to USA to be included.

Provided you haven't changed plans to a newer All Rounder or Full Works plan since 29th August 2024, you'll be able to go to your Inclusive Extras in the EE App and change between the EU Roaming Pass and Roaming Pass ROW.
The Roam Abroad Pass has been removed and has been replaced with two separate passes. This may be what has happened in your case as it has been phased out.
The Roaming Pass ROW option now gives access to a larger list of Zone 1 countries, whereas the EU Roaming Pass gives access to EU Countries.
As Inclusive Extras, you can swap every 30 days between.
Details can be found here on the Roaming Refresh https://ee.co.uk/roamingrefresh

I was in the US last week and EE changed my inclusive Roaming benefit from EU and ROW1, which worked perfectly in the US, to Roam EU only as part of the Roaming Refresh overhaul. Couldn't change it to ROW1 as the 30 day change limit was also applied by EE and I couldn't contact customer services from my device abroad. I had to purchase an eSim to maintain connectivity. I travel a lot and being limited to one Smart Benefit switch per month between EU and ROW1 simply will not provide the flexibility that I signed up for at great expense. My 15 years with EE will end with my current contract.

@Newlers You could simple change to the full works tariff that includes ROW1 and the EU.
