Request to remove Cifas marker - Victim of impersonation

Hi @creditteam at EE -  Need urgent help

EE had put me on incorrect default for four years and didn’t notify me via email or phone which I later got to know via credit report in Jan 2026. Thanks to EE as they investigated this and found out I was a victim of fraud and removed default in April 2024. However in order to protect me from further frauds they have a put a cifas marker on my credit with subject victim of impersonation. This is affecting me financially as I m unable to get a credit card or open a bank account as most bank systems automatically reject my application. I have a family emergency and I need take loan.  I request you urgently remove my cifas marker!! You would have received email with subject line Request to remove Cifas Marker - **VERY URGENT** to crqueries@ee.co.uk team on 27 May 2026. Please look into it ASAP. I am unable to the team via call

Regards,

Vaishnavi

This is not the CR team but a user discussion forum can have no access to your specific account. You need to continue using the email addy or sending a letter as per Credit files explained

Hi @Vaish1

That marker is to protect you and shouldn't impact your ability to obtain services if your identity is validated  and of course you are eligible for the services you have applied for. It does not impact your credit score.

As @XRaySpeX you'll need to follow the instructions in the link but even if removed today it will still show until all agencies have updated their files, or you might need to apply to have them correct your file.

Thanks
