Hi,

Did you manage to downgrade?

It doesn't have that option anywhere that I can see. Always there to upgrade but not to downgrade

Just like Sky. You can upgrade but no facility to downgrade. It is appalling really

Why is it these companies will offer you upgrades online but not downgrades? Surely that should be standard

@alans60  You can have any device/tariff you want depending on your current contract T&Cs

The wording upgrade doesn’t mean a more expensive product or tariff it just means new

  • @alans60 ..You're never going to save much by opting for a new phone at the end of every contract.  As  @Christopher_G suggested, keep your existing device and go sim only - I do this and it is a LOT cheaper than a new phone contract.
  • One of the problems with changing to a phone further down a manufacturer's range is that they inevitably have a lesser specification and functionality - often ending in disappointment for the end user.

Thanks for replying Chris_B

The upgrades they have offered me have all been more expensive than my current tariff.

I am on a sim only tariff and use at best 1 gig a month but I have a 160 gig a month tariff which they was charging £25 a month plus vat but when I agreed it it was only £15 inclusive of vat.

Hi Wardi,

I never mentioned about changing my phone. I don't like the way they have been charging me £25 per month plus vat when the agreement was for £15 including vat. I am on a sim only deal and have an old Galaxy S8 which is perfectly suitable for my needs.I have called and been left hanging only to be hung up on after waiting.

I am on SIM only and don't need a new phone. I just want what I agreed to pay. I also got charged 61p for a picture message that I don't recall doing.

On the face of it, that's a billing error - have you queried this or investigated the reasons for the discrepancy?

Perhaps there are additional charges on your bill that could explain this - picture messages should show in your phone's message log if that was sent.

  • @alans60.. sorry it's the downgrade comment that threw me off the scent.  I am similar to you in that I have a Galaxy s10 plus on sim only, I pay under £9 pm with discount for BB etc.  It does sound like an error to me.  Re. the message charge, if you're unlucky emojis/smilies can be transmitted as picture messages which are chargeable.  If it is one of these might be worth asking CS if they will knock it off your charges.
