Question about upgrading sim and potential costs.

Hi! I wasn’t sure where to put this so I hope this is the right place.

I’m currently on a pay monthly plan which I started 17/4/20 and it ends 17/4/22, so less than a month away. I’m applicable for a free early upgrade and I’m looking to get a sim only plan and keep my current phone.

As it hasn’t reached the end of my contract yet, if I was to upgrade/start a new sim only plan, would I encounter any fees or additional costs? I last paid my phone bill 23/3/22 so would I also have to pay for the usage since the last cut off?

I hope I’ve made sense! Thank you so much for the help in advance ❤️

You would incur no fees by upgrading your SIM-Only contract in the last 45 days of its term. You would continue to pay for each contract pro-rata to the time you have it. Just don't take out a new SIM-Only contract.
