I've just had the email through about the price increase from March. I have 3 sim-only accounts with EE and have since around 2020, so all out of the tie-in period.
It appears that EE have changed the way they are increasing prices, away from the CPI+ 3.9% (roughly 7% total it appears) to a flat, in my case, £2.50 a line.
However, when I work out the price under the old system, it would have 'only' gone up by 95p. So under the 'clearer for the customer' increase, they've also more than doubled the increase.
I'm not sure how they can retrospectively change a contract I've agreed to - sure, I'm out of the tie-in, but that doesn't give them the ability to change T&Cs I agreed to without my consent.
I think it's about time I changed providers, but this post is just an FYI - check it out for yourself and if you'll on more than a £35(ish) a month contract, you will be paying more under these changes. As mine are sim only, 2 are around £14 and the one is mid £20s, the fixed price increase is more than the old system.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Thanks Colstalex for the much needed clarification, thats changed my mind.
Another question:
The change comes into effect on the 1st March and EE say we won't be changed for moving because they changed the contract, do you happen to know the deadline for moving without being charged?
Thanks again Colstalex

| Mobile SIM Only plan and airtime plans | From 31 July 2025 | £2.50 |
| 10 April 2024 to 30 July 2025 | £1.50 |

Before 2024 I think it was CPI+3.9%, those are the ones they are changing to a £2.50 per month increase.

There is presumably a cutoff date whereby customers making new orders, renewing existing contracts or upgrading have their first annual price change applied in 2027 rather than 2026. What is that date please ? , is it for example orders made on /after March 1st (that is a date I have added speculatively) or is based upon new service commencement date rather than order date etc ?

EE prices typically increase annually around March 31st. So I guess its safe if you get a new contract after 1st April or later.
But avoid 24 months contract. They do offer monthly contracts if ur a broadband customer.

I don't believe this is the case any longer in regard to monthly-rolling contracts - EE One SIMs & Airtime Plans now have a 24-month minimum term: https://ee.co.uk/ee-one

Everything about EE is getting less and less appealing. Let's lock you in for as long as possible and shaft you with exorbitant increases.

@zulu17 : Yes, cut-off date is 1st March each year.
