Phone is broken- not the account holder

My phone has broken a few months before the end of the contact. I live far away from the account holder, so it is not possible for them to come with me to the shop to get the phone replaced or repaired. I also cannot get a new phone as it is too early to cancel the old contract without paying a fee. What can I do? Is there a way I can get it fixed or replaced without the account holder? I have no old phones to use in the meantime either.

You will either need to pay the upgrade fee, or source a replacement/spare phone from whatever retailer you choose.
Perhaps ask friends or relatives if they have a spare phone you can use as an interim measure.
