Hi all.
I hope you all are having an amazing day. I used to have an EE mobile contract. I closed the contract and finished paying for it. I cant remember when this was tbh. I check my credit score and says I still we £18. I call EE and they say tI don't we anything but yet it is still showing on my credit score as defaulted. How can this be when I owe EE nothing as I made sure I paid everything that I owe them.
Kind Regards
Jen

The normal process for a disconnection is that after you give and serve 30days notice, you will subsequently receive a final bill with any final credits or debits. Only after those have been taken can you safely cancel any DD.
The natural assumption is that you didn't follow this process somehow.

I did follow the process and EE confirmed my account is now shut. I did this like over 5 years ago

Thanks for coming to the community.
You can find ways to query your credit file in our Credit Files Explained, Help page to get this looked into.
Hope this helps.
