I have ultimately made the decision to leave EE considering the price hikes every year and the scandalous prices that are offered to loyal customers of multiple years. What has solidified this decision is one of the latest texts I have had stating "You can stay on your current plan of £90.08." How on earth does this work considering the contract prior is for both a handset and airtime so when the minimum term is finished why is it acceptable to charge for the device still when this has been paid for over the said term? Make sure you cancel your contract before it ends or you're paying through the nose for what you have already paid for!!!

EE's traditional contracts have no concept of paying off the handset. You agreed to pay the same price for the full duration of the total bundled contract. There will however be a 10% discount 3 months after the end of min. term. You may always choose to upgrade your contract to a cheaper SIM-Only contract from the last 45 days of your contract term.

What was the complete text of the message you received? Was "staying as you are" the only option presented?
EE have recently started offering split contracts where the airtime & device payments are separate, but this has also attracted some complaints. Even by offering the choice, operators in a no-win situation here and can be criticised whatever they do.
