Sorry I hadnt seen your message on this sooner. I too have discovered that the tablet which suposedly 'free' when changing broadband package is something I have been paying monthly for, since last July along with a SIM I never even wanted and havent used. An absolute con. Person on ee helpline very helpful but turns out im going to have to carry on paying until July 2026 unless i buy my way out of contract

Just replied to your customer Claire having been conned by ee as she was with a 'free' tablet. I too have discovered that the tablet which sguposedly 'free' when changing broadband package is something I have been paying monthly for, since last July along with a SIM I never even wanted and havent used. The table is still in it celophane wrapping. An absolute con. Person on ee helpline very helpful but turns out im going to have to carry on paying until July 2026 unless i buy my way out of contract. I work for the Daily Mail so can call out ee there for this and just hope that it triggers a chain reaction but your fast talking salesman is probably long gone and I guess you wan't care beyond being profusely apoloetic

@IanHerbert So you’re saying you r never looked at your bill or your account which will show what you are paying for for the last 10 months, This would have been there from the moment you agreed to have the free tablet. Thats free as in no upfront cost but the air time part of that tablet which included an sim isn’t free and that’s what you’ve been paying for. Did not wonder why you had a SIM card and signed a data contract for said tablet.

No, the sales lady just said the tablet comes with the phone I was updating no mention of paying for it, EE staff are conning customers and laughing about it, wonder if they'll be laughing when they get sued and mentioned on media news as this seams to be happening to a lot of people,
Yours disgusted

I agree with you Nigel. I've just been through my ee bills - no mention whatsoever of them charging me for a tablet and a sim, which I never intended to use are still in the packaging. It seems to be a different company charing me - 'ee limited' instead of 'ee'. Except I never get a bill from ee limited. They just take the money without telling me. It was only when going through bank statement more carefully that I spotted it. Disgusted also.
