Leaving EE FOR EE !!!!

Wonder if anyone can offer some advise - so I am with EE currently have an iPhone 12 mini - but it doesn’t come with much data and still have until December till my contract runs out  (I know I can pay to finish early and cancel)  I  have found a deal with EE for a new iPhone 15 for less that what I’m paying for currently on a different website but they have advised you cannot already be an EE customer and I’d need to cancel my current contract first

Happy to have a new mobile number as I know cannot port from EE to EE but not sure if there would be a gap in doing this or how quick my account would close so I could then go for this other offer - they can deliver next day but not sure on the best option

Has this third party advised this in writing? Or on their website somewhere? Or is it just verbal advice?

Some offers are not for upgrades and only for new connections, but it's unusual for there to be a requirement to cancel any existing contract first.

That’s what I thought and you have to fill in an application and it asks if your already an EE Customer and if you tick yes it came up with a message that I wasn’t sure about  so I went onto their live chat and they said it’s for new customers only and if proceeded with the application it would automatically reject it if your already an EE customer

because my plan was just order a new phone new number set it all up then call up pay off old one and cancel …but their saying can’t do that and it’s soooo annoying because the offer is the best no upfront cost and like £26 a month for an iPhone 15

just gone to find the link and not showing EE now but it was reward mobile . Co .uk

Might have sold out now no longer offering EE lol

Yes, you can in a roundabout way. EE won't port nos. between its contracts. So you need to 1st port your existing no. to another network's PAYG using a PAC from EE & then in reverse port it back to your new contract. This will also have the effect of cancelling your old contract.

You could alternatively move your old contract to PAYG with 30 days notice & then ask EE to transfer the no to your new contract.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

Thank you - I am actually happy to have a new number I don’t mind… but this company are saying  I can’t take out a second contract until I cancel my current one and all direct debits are cancelled which is what I’m not so sure about can’t see anything stating that on their website other than if you proceed it says as an existing customer you won’t be able to upgrade and a new number will be issued !! Might just order it and see what happens lol

@Laurajane871  To get round this use a different email address than you currently use for EE,  you can’t have two EE accounts with the same email address.   Once you get the new device you then terminate the old contract with EE.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.
