Incorrect phone registered leading to delayed upgrade

I got a pixel 4 plan but during the course of my plan,after about a year or more,my pixel 4 broke and I put my SIM into an old Pixel 3. Now EE have changed my plan details to a year later which means my upgrade has now been delayed by over a year...any advice on how to rectify?

Thanks for coming here. 

Moving the SIM card into another phone should not change the contract length unless you have upgraded to a phone or SIM Only plan.
